I will be there for you through every step of your journey, not in front of you, but next to you. My overall goal is to help you grow, learn and understand yourself in a way that will lead you to a healthier future.
I do not participate in any health insurance plan but will provide the necessary paperwork for out-of-network reimbursement.
Adolescence
Adolescence can be a very overwhelming and confusing time in a young person’s life. They may be feeling isolated, socially anxious, struggling to find their place within the world, and transitioning to college. I will work closely with your teen to help them understand and navigate this time so they can feel accepted and confident as they move forward.
Depression
Depression affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. We will work together to find the most effective and appropriate form of treatment for your depression. CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts and behaviors influence our feelings, so changing the way we think about and react to situations will help us feel better. CBT is the most common and highly effective way to treat depressive symptoms, but it's not the only one. Your treatment plan will be tailored to your specific areas of difficulty and target the reduction of current symptoms.
Trauma
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Panic, anxiousness, irritability, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. I can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing using a trauma-based therapy designed to help you cope with current life stressors as well as work through the specific trauma using various trauma-sensitive interventions.
Infertility
Infertility is not only a physical medical condition but one that also impacts your emotions and everyday life. This can include how you feel about yourself, relationships with others, and your outlook on the future. It is a topic that historically people are not comfortable talking about but one that requires a lot of support, guidance and acceptance to get through. My hope is that we can work together through this difficult period of your life so you can understand all available options and feel comfortable with your current path.
Anxiety
Anxiety, worry, and fear are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience, especially during this time of uncertainty and change. Through counseling and treatment, I will help you to recognize and understand these feelings. I will also teach you skills that you will be able to implement independently to help you recover your motivation, perspective, and level of functioning that you once had. These skills may involve challenging preconceptions, identifying cognitive distortions, and replacing unhelpful thought patterns
